A short walk from the centre of Luang Prabang on the banks of the Nam Khan River, and at the back of an ancient Buddhist monastery, Villa Maydou is a refreshing addition to the Luang Prabang accommodation scene.

Lodgings were built in 2005 to the simple, yet refined specifications of the French manager. Guestrooms are spacious and comprise timber flooring, selective use of Lao textiles, and have an overall exotic feel. A number of the rooms also have a shared veranda.

The wooden villas are set within an open garden setting, making for a relaxing and peaceful environment. The hotel is a short fifteen minute walk to most of Luang Prabang's restaurants and cafes, and is not far from a number of interesting boutiques and ancient Buddhist temples. Breakfast is taken in the outdoors restaurant to the attention of diligent, friendly staff.
